It is intended to provide unemployed older workers with programs aimed at:
Increasing their employability
Reintegration into the workforce
Ensuring they remain active and productive in the labour market
Reconfirming their value as an asset to an employer.
Between 55 and 64 years of age
Unemployed or under-employed (working less than 20 hours per week)
Lacking skills needed for employment
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Live in a community vulnerable to economic restructuring, closures, and downsizing
